JOB TITLE: Business Intelligence Specialist / Cognos Developer
JOB TYPE: Contract 9 months+
LOCATION: Toronto
COMPENSATION: to $75/hr.

SWGi (www.swgi.ca) has an immediate opportunity BI professional (Cognos) for a contract with their government client.

The Business Intelligence Specialist is required to:

- Analyze predefined/ad-hoc reporting requirements, performance measure requirements and provide guidance on the reporting system architecture;
- Work closely with Senior Business Analyst, DBA and ETL Programmer to clarify and confirm business requirements and system design;
- Perform systems analysis;
- Create and maintain Framework Manager models to accommodate incremental implementation;
- Create and maintain a Report Studio model and develop all required predefined reports;
- Design and implement Analysis Studio (cubes) and Query studio models based on program analysis and ad hoc reporting requirements;
- Create Metrics Manager model to support program measurements and evaluations;
- Assist Senior Business Analyst in the development of repeatable data management procedures;
- Create system operation documents;
- Provide on-the-job training to ADP staff on the use of the Cognos tool;
- Perform unit testing;
- Produce technical documentation according to standards; and
- Transfer skills and knowledge to selected staff.

- Framework Manager Model
- Report Studio Model
- Pre-defined reports
- Query Studio Model
- Analysis Studio Cube(s)
- System operational procedures/documents

The Network Operations Center Technician will be an integral part of the Networks Operations Team directly responsible for assisting internal and external customers, trouble-shooting of new and existing incidents as well as network and customer facing problems. Preference will be given to those who communicate in both French and English.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Characteristic responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Receive customer requests for assistance via e-mail and telephone in French and English.
- Respond to reported incidents according to the best practices of Customer Service.
- Take ownership of customer incidents and resolve them as per guidelines set by departmental and established corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Provide ongoing communication with customers during time of outage or service impact.
- Pro-actively act on events reported by various network monitoring tools.
- Document all customer interactions and troubleshooting steps in ticketing system.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate internally to Level 2 Analyst, if necessary.
- Perform tests of newly installed circuits.
